Early in the new year, Jacqui (pictured right) bumped into a friend she hadn’t seen for three months - and could hardly believe her eyes. Her friend had lost three stone and looked absolutely fabulous.
Inspired, on Monday 27 January, Jacqui weighed in
at 12 stone for her first Slimming World session in
St Paul’s Church Hall in Camden Square. A target weight of 10 stone was set.
Just thirteen weeks later, Jacqui hadn’t just hit the target – she’d scored a bullseye.
Slimming World claims to help you lose weight without you ever feeling hungry and without you having to prepare weird food just for you. SW recipes are designed to be enjoyed by the whole family.
What does it cost? £9.95 to join and £4.95 every Monday to be weighed and, if you wish, to spend an hour with the group being encouraged, swapping recipes, having a laugh. Jacqui strongly recommends staying for the chat.
She also recommends doing the course with a neighbour, a friend or someone in the family. (Jacqui’s daughter Jade, 25, has so far lost a whopping 2 stone 7.)
